ENGINEERING
Co-design
Alfa Meccanica supports its Customers with “co-design” activity with the target of obtaining the best compromise between the engineering requirements and the associated manufacturing costs, mitigating risks of scraps and non quality.
Industrialization and simulation
Alfa Meccanica’s Production Engineering Department set ups the machining strategies, designs the needed manufacturing tools with CATIA V5, proceedes with CNC programming and Vericut simulations (using the last releases of the most advanced software), before starting up the manufacturing operations.
ASSEMBLY and TESTING
Complex assemblies
The assembly operations are carried out in a dedicated and segregated FOD area. The most common activities are assembling of bushings, ball bearings, rivets, inserts and nuts. Our operators have the capability, the training and the skills to manage complex assemblies and complex MGSE.
Hydraulic Testing
Oil nozzles, oil jets, spray bars are tested on a dedicated test bench for flow, pressure measurements and target achievement, simulating the running condition of an aircraft.
MANUFACTURING
Turning, milling, EDM
Alfa Meccanica carries out internally the following main processes
• Big Size 5 axis CNC High speed Milling (overall maximum dimension 8000 x 3500 x 1500mm)
• CNC Center Turning and Multi Axis Turning (overall maximum dimensions D. 660 x 1585mm)
• Honeycomb panels Trim&Dril Capability, up to 6000 x 3000 mm
• Electrical Discharge Machining (die sinking and wire cutting)

Alfa Meccanica is supported by a network of properly selected and certified Suppliers to perform several operations and special processes.
Metrology and dimensional inspection
Alfa Meccanica Inspection Room, equipped with a temperature/humidity control system, has the most advanced measuring gauges (optical gauges, outside/inside depth micrometer gauges, calipers, etc.), and three C.M.M. ( with maximum capability of 4000 x 2000 x 1500 mm).
SPECIAL PROCESSES
NDT
Alfa Meccanica F.P.I equipment is a Semiautomatic System with tanks capacity of 700 x 800 x 800mm. The qualified personnel carries out methods of inspection IA3, ID2, ID3 according to ASTM 1417. The process is NADCAP approved and qualified by all our Customers.
